The hotel has a historical significance attached with it. The place was built by Sir William Mansfield in 1866 and it was reconstructed in 1938 by the Rana of Jubbal. Kunwar Udai Singh opened a part of this beautiful mansion as a guesthouse in 1977 and since then the place is the one of the finest ones to stay in Shimla.
