Near to a soft white beach, secluded in exotic fragrant foliage, nestles one of Bali’s most intimate and exclusive resorts, Amanusa. It is a visual feast, yielding panoramic access to the indigo nuances of the Indian Ocean, complemented by Bali’s striking and richly foliated volcanic landscape. This serene resort is perfectly placed for shopping trips and the nightlife of Sanur, Legian and Seminyak. Those who wish to unwind in spectacular splendour can while away their days at the beach club or the manicured golf course, set against an incandescent aquatic playground, surrounded by an aura of spirituality.
accommodation:
Suites
Amanusa’s design is influenced by ancient Hindu poetry, the surrounding miles of breathtaking views and by the spiritual and naturally peaceful lifestyle. Enclosed in a secluded self-contained retreat, Amanusa is a relaxing microcosm of all things Balinese and seeks to ensure a complete respite from the hectic pace of the world at large. As a result, rooms are spacious, authentically decorated in a soothing palette of browns, beige, cream and honey.
All the 35 thatched-roof suites have wooden four-poster beds, draped in white veils, with detailed attention to the essential ingredients for peaceful sleep. The cavernous bathrooms feature sunken baths with directional lighting, enhancing the foliage alongside. Each suite is enclosed in a sensuous tropical setting and an outdoor shower is built into a high paras-stone wall, seeding soft moss and fragrant white flowers beneath an overhang of ochre and salmon-pink bougainvillea. The walled garden courtyards are private and romantic, offering day and night alfresco dining. Every suite has an outdoor terrace with a comfortable daybed beneath a protective canopy. Elevated walkways link the suites for easy access to the resort’s extensive facilities and eight suites have private swimming pools. Wireless broadband connections are available in all resort accommodations and public areas.

Cuisine
The Terrace offers sweeping views of Bali, embracing the golf course, the Indian Ocean, Nusa Dua and the Bukit, which is Bali’s southern peninsula. The Terrace serves Thai and Indonesian cuisines, with the addition of Continental fare during the day. Open only for dinner, The Italian Restaurant offers seating in an elegant room of high ceilings and leaded windows as well as in a romantic outdoor courtyard among flowering frangipani trees, overlooking the pool. Framed by a trellis laden with bougainvillea blossoms, an alternative dining venue is located next to the swimming pool and provides a more informal environment. Here, the dining is alfresco beneath a covered colonnade and lunchtime fare includes sandwiches, salads and traditional Indonesian snacks. The Bar is opposite the Terrace on the same level and offers similar views.
The Beach Club
This is located on the beachfront of the Bali Golf and Country Club. The Club consists of nine bales, each with two sunloungers. Refreshments, light meals, showers and washrooms are provided. The white-sand beach is one of Bali's best and is fringed by a coral reef that provides a safe lagoon for swimming and seasonal water sports. The Beach Club is also the setting for candlelit barbecues, and sunrise breakfasts can be enjoyed in the privacy of the bales.

Facilities include direct lines for fax and telephone, a video and laser-disc system, satellite TV and a computer link to the projector and the big screen.
