HOTELS: While accommodation can generally be arranged on arrival from November to March, reservations are highly recommended throughout the year. Particularly during exhibitions, up-market hotels in Aleppo and Damascus are often fully booked. Tariffs are the same throughout the year. All rates are subject to a 15 per cent service charge. Grading: Hotels range from fairly low grade to luxurious 5-star accommodation. The best-quality hotels are found in Damascus, though Aleppo, Hama, Homs, Latakia and Palmyra also have luxury hotels. GUEST HOUSES: Available in Aleppo, Bosra, Damascus, Dar’a, Idlib and Zabadani. Cités Universitaires offer summer accommodation.
